Katie Gavin

Born: 1992 in Chicago, IL.
Katie identifies as Queer and Neurodivergent. She has two sisters named Emily and Maddie. She is a singer, producer, activist, educator, and dancer; she also preforms independently on SoundCloud. Gavin went viral, at 17, when she uploaded her 2010 cover of Willow Smith’s “Whip My Hair” on YouTube. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music and a Minor in American Studies and Ethnicity from the University of Southern California but spent her first year of college at NYU, which she wrote about in Muna’s song “It’s Gonna Be Okay, Baby” from the album Saves The World. Gavin is in a relationship with Molly Bernstein, after previously dating bandmate Naomi McPherson.
Josette Maskin

Born: 1994 in Los Angeles, CA.
She identifies as Queer. Earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music at the University of Southern California. Grew up playing in a series of short‐lived bands before forming a group with Gavin called Cuddleslut in college. That band never released any music and only performed one show. Maskin wasn’t actually in that one show, she’d left to attend Coachella and her spot was filled by McPherson. Maskin is in a relationship with casting director Kelli Caton.
Naomi McPherson

Born: 1993 in San Diego, CA.
Naomi identifies as Queer and Non-binary. They double-majored in narrative studies and American studies & ethnicity at the University of Southern California. They are from a family of jazz musicians and spent a large amount of their teenage years resisting the urge to a professional musician. Much of their work is inspired by the documentary The Decline of Western Civilization, which is about the late 1970s LA punk-rock scene. They are the band’s primary producer and are known for creative incredible tracks at their home studio. They are in a relationship with director Ally Pankiw.
