EcoCar

The Problem

This project was part of my role as the lead HMI/UX designer for UTK’s EcoCar club. I was tasked with creating an application prototype to teach people how to use Adaptive Cruise Control on a Chevy Blazer. It needed to be simple, yet informative with a nice and easy to use design.

What I did

Driving can be a stressful task for many people, so my main goal was to provide the most simple experience I could. As soon as I learned what I needed to do, I starting wireframing ideas on Figma. Since I was a One Man Team, I had to come up with all the ideas and designs myself. As I figured out what I wanted to do, the wireframes slowly turned into a functioning prototype. Eventually, I got to a point where I could not go any further on my own, so I tested the prototype at a local car meet where I was able to get tests from a variety of people — not just car experts. Using this invaluable data, I was able to make changes to the prototype and make it better.
