Katie Gavin is one of the members of the band MUNA. She has been with MUNA, an indie pop group from the United States, as the lead singer since the beginning. She is 30 years old, was born in Chicago, and got her degree at the University of Southern California. Some background on Gavin, she and McPherson were in a relationship at the beginning of the band’s startup, however, they were able to remain friends and thrive with the band and grow supporting over 10 bands in the past 7-8 years
Comprised of Katie Gavin, Josette Maskin, and Naomi McPherson, MUNA is an indie pop band that was formed in 2013. The three members met while attending the University of Southern California and immediately knew that they wanted to form a band together. They released their first EP in 2014, with their most recent album coming out in 2022. All three members of the band identify as queer and embrace their identity as a queer band that inspires people to be comfortable with their identities. If you can’t get enough of their music, MUNA also produces a podcast titled Gayotic. Their podcast aims to give insight into queer lives outside of the heightened attention during Pride month.
