My March reviews are listed below, with their ratings (out of 10).

The Batman (8.5 out of 10; Starring Robert Pattinson, Zoe Kravitz, Paul Dano; Directed by Matt Reeves)

While the movie itself does run a bit long for my taste, there is almost nothing that I can think of that deserved to be cut from this gritty, noir film. The cinematography is absolutely beautiful and may be the best-shot superhero movie I can think of. I consider myself to be a big Batman fan (both movies and comics) and have been a bit of an apologist for some of the lesser films. One of the few things I haven’t been able to fully justify is the lack of the “detective” elements in those films but that is definitely not the case here as we finally get to see (arguably) the best depiction of Batman on-screen.

The Lost City (6.5 out of 10; Starring Sandra Bullock, Channing Tatum, Daniel Radcliffe; Directed by Aaron Nee & Adam Nee)

This is a “fine” movie. And that is probably my biggest issue with it; it’s just “fine.” There’s nothing about the film that’s overly good or bad one way or another. It’s a fairly formulaic script and doesn’t have any twists and turns to keep me completely engrossed. The cast is somewhat mismanaged as they are all tremendous talents that really don’t feel like they have too much to do, except for Radcliffe who is delightful in his over-the-top moments.

The number of March reviews were somewhat low, especially compared to the April films. But overall, I greatly enjoyed my time at the theatre this month.
