As much as I love watching movies in the theatre, streaming movies on a night in can be just as nice.
Turning Red (7 out of 10; Starring Rosalie Chiang, Sandra Oh, Ava Morse; Directed by Domee Shi)
A very cute movie that offers a strong message of acceptance of one’s self.
The Adam Project (6 out of 10; Starring Ryan Reynolds, Walker Scobell, Mark Ruffalo)
A pretty decent action/sci-fi tale that is just that: pretty decent. I was fairly disappointed overall with the strong cast list.
Lucy and Desi (7.5 out of 10; Starring Lucille Ball, Desi Arnaz, Lucie Arnaz; Directed by Amy Poehler)
As someone who only knew of Lucy & Desi through I Love Lucy, I found this incredibly interesting and engaging. The biggest issue was that it probably tried covering too much. It didn’t feel as though there were a lot of subjects fully explored.
The Bubble (3 out of 10; Starring Karen Gillan, Leslie Mann, David Duchovny; Directed by Judd Apatow)
I found very little of this film to be enjoyable. I think the premise keeps it interesting for about 1/3 of the movie until you realize that that’s all this movie is: a premise.
