For the first assignment in INSC 589 Website Development, I chose to critique my small library’s website. The assignment was to critique who the site was created to serve and its purpose, consider the content design, visual appeal, formatting & layout in fulfilling its goal, assess how the website’s navigation works and how it employed technology throughout. This assignment was completed individually. I uncovered many things I wish I could fix on the website. After completing this course, I have a greater understanding of the mechanics at work behind the scene and would likely recommend additional improvements today. The paper displays the results of simple usability tests for a website and a personal critique of the design and content included.
