Who Is Mold Mentor?
The co-author of the book MOLD: The War Within, Lee Ann Billings, is the driving force behind Mold Mentor. She is a Certified Mold Assessor and Certified Mold Remediator with specialized training in Certified Remediation for Sensitized Individuals. After her family recovered from mold and mycotoxin related illnesses after Hurricane Katrina in 2005, she became a health advocate for other mold victims. Lee Ann has a bachelor’s degree in marketing and journalism and has interviewed many of the world’s top mold experts in science and medicine. She spreads the message of mold prevention, high-risk groups, and natural recovery options in an effort to reduce suffering from mold exposure.
Disaster Area Outreach
Since 2007, Lee Ann has performed educational outreach in disaster areas to alert community residents and post-disaster volunteers to the health dangers of exposure to mold, bacteria, and toxins present in water-damaged buildings, and the increased impact to high-risk groups. She performs this disaster area outreach through local media and nonprofit partners.
TV, Radio & Print Media
As an expert on mold, Lee Ann has appeared multiple times on the nationally syndicated health TV show Know The Cause, and on local and regional TV and national radio shows. In addition, she has authored articles published in local and regional newspapers, national health magazines, and global trade publications in the indoor air quality industry.
Nonfiction & Fiction Books
In addition to authoring the book MOLD: The War Within, which has sold in over 59 countries, Lee Ann has written three children’s books in the Super Bouv Series. The stories feature the true-life story of a pup nobody wanted who grew up to become a respiratory alert service dog, saving her family’s health. The books have educated children about mold in over 39 countries.
