Conagaree is a more recently established National Park that Knoxville Nature Lovers really enjoys traveling to! There is some great camping and beautiful trees (as you’ll see below) in Congaree. This is usually a long weekend trip for the KNL, and we would love to have you join us. Check out some great info below and get signed up for a trip with us!

Trees

The current national champions of Congaree (the tallest trees of their species in North America), include possumhaw, water hickory, loblolly pine, laurel oak, swamp tupelo, and sweetgum.  Animals

Large animals possibly seen in the park include bobcats, deer, feral pigs, feral dogs, coyotes, armadillos, turkeys, and otters. Its waters contain interesting creatures like amphibians, turtles, snakes, and many types of fish, including bowfin, alligator gar, and catfish.
