Fluffs R Us Vet Care

Veterinary Care: Spay/Neuter Program

Spaying or neutering your pets helps prevent our wonderful furry friends from ending up in a shelter looking for a home.

We try to promote responsibility and provide education on the importance of spaying/neutering pets.

To help with this goal we try to provide affordable spaying/neutering opportunities to reduce pet overpopulation.

Some Frequently Asked Questions

Question Answer
How old do my pets need to be? This varies depending upon who your veterinarian is. Specific information will be provided when you make your appiontment! A good rule of thumb is before the age of six (6) months. The best rule of thumb is to call us and make an appointment to speak with a veterinarian!
Do I need to wait until my pet has had at least one litter before spaying? That is not necessary! Females who are spayed before their first cycle are less likely to develop mammary tumors or cancer as adults!
Is it safer to wait until my pet is older because of the anesthesia? This is a frequent question we hear, but in fact younger animals bounce back from surgery much quicker than adults.
How long will my pet have to stay after the surgery? In most cases your pet will go home the same day after surgery. We make sure your furry friend is alert and awake before we let them leave. We also provide you with all after-care instructions necessary, and unless the doctor tells you otherwise, absorbable sutures will be used so that no follow-up appointment is necessary!
Do you offer any other services besides spaying/neutering? We do offer tick & flea preventative, heartworm preventative, Rabies vaccinations, and a few other over the counter items for purchase. Ask us about what veterinary care and services we offer!
